Can I get paid in Alabama?

Yes, direct pay only through ClassWallet, reimbursement is banned and you can never refund or share funds back to a parent. The application is open year round and ALDOR decides within 14 days. Tutors prove a bachelor's or certification, therapists a valid license, and both need a background check. There's no confirmed fee.

What you'll need

  • Teaching certificate or professional license
  • Bank / ACH details
  • Background check / fingerprint clearance

A free account fills this in from your own Vault and Settings, and keeps it filled in.

The path in

  1. The application is a Smartsheet form, published year round on chooseact.alabama.gov, which sends you to the ClassWallet CHOOSE Act site. ALDOR decides within 14 days.

  2. Set up ClassWallet Pay Vendor

Add your bank details. Tutors show a bachelor's, certification, or accreditation, therapists a valid license, and both submit background-check documentation with the application.

  3. Bill direct pay only

The CHOOSE Act is Pay Vendor only. Invoices need your name and address, the student's name, and a service description, and can't be handwritten. Never refund or rebate funds to a parent, that's barred.

You have to agree never to refund, rebate, or share funds back to a parent. Reimbursement is banned outright.
